COLLEGE MINISTRY

We desire that every college student attend our weekly worship service, connect in Sunday school or a small group, and join a D-Group. When it comes to discipleship, we want every age on the same page! However, because college-aged students are in a unique position in this transitory phase of life, we believe the best small group for college-aged students to attend is a weekly home group meeting.

In home groups, college-aged students come under the tutelage and mentoring of a more seasoned couple who can walk them not only through the Bible, but through the relationships they encounter in life (see Titus 2). The ability to make and keep good friendships is an acquired life-skill. Whether dating, marriage, or having children is around the corner for the college-aged student, this more experienced couple is there to provide prayer and guidance for their younger counterparts.

We value mentoring, growing, and learning in community. In fact, relationships represent such a vital aspect in the lives of college-aged students, we use the acronym R.E.L.A.T.I.O.N.S.H.I.P.S. to describe the core values of our collegiate ministry:

Relational approach

Encouragement

Laughter and celebration

Acceptance

Transparency

Involvement of students

Outreach-oriented

Numerical growth

Spiritual growth

Home-like

Intimacy

Professionalism

Strategic follow-up

But, relationships are only the beginning. Our desire and goal is for every college student to have been a part of and to have led a D-Group by the time they graduate. Starting and leading a D-Group on their college campus is the penultimate achievement in our college ministry experience. In the future, we may add international mission trips to this list!

If you desire to work with college students, all we ask is for you to be men and women of FAITH (Faithful, Available, an Initiator, Teachable, and one that has a Heart for this type of ministry).
